Nara Kasuga Shikanoya (hereinafter referred to as “the Inn”) sets forth the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”).

Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal Information” refers to “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and includes information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in the information. It also includes data related to physical appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and individual identification information such as the insurer number on a health insurance card, which alone can identify a specific individual.

The Inn may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number when a user registers for use. In addition, transaction records and payment information including the user’s personal information made between the user and partners (including information providers, advertisers, and ad delivery destinations, hereinafter referred to as “Partners”) may be collected from the Inn’s Partners.

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Inn collects and uses personal information are as follows:

To provide and operate the Inn’s services
To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, etc., of the service currently being used by the user, and other services provided by the Inn
To contact users as necessary for maintenance, important notices, etc.
To identify users who violate the terms of use or who intend to use the service for fraudulent or unjust purposes, and to refuse their use
To allow users to view, change, or delete their own registered information and view their usage status
To bill users for usage fees in paid services

Article 4 (Change of Purpose of Use)

The Inn shall change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably recognized that the purpose of use has relevance to the purpose before the change.
If the purpose of use is changed, the changed purpose shall be notified to the user or announced on this website by the method prescribed by the Inn.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Inn will not provide personal information to a third party without obtaining the user’s prior consent, except in the following cases. However, this excludes cases permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations.
1. When it is necessary for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
2. When it is particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or a person entrusted by them in performing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual may impede the performance of such affairs
4. When the following matters have been notified or announced in advance, and the Inn has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission:

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the recipient of the information shall not fall under the category of a third party in the following cases:
1. When the Inn entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
2. When personal information is provided due to business succession resulting from a merger or other reasons
3. When personal information is used jointly with a specific person, and the individual is notified in advance or placed in a state where the individual can easily know the fact, the items of personal information used jointly, the scope of joint users, the purpose of use of the users, and the name of the person responsible for the management of the personal information

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When the Inn is requested by an individual to disclose their personal information, the Inn shall disclose it to the individual without delay. However, if any of the following apply due to disclosure, all or part of it may not be disclosed, and if a decision is made not to disclose it, the Inn will notify the individual to that effect without delay. A fee of 1,000 yen will be charged for each disclosure of personal information.
1. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party
2. When there is a risk of significant hindrance to the proper implementation of the Inn’s business
3. When it would violate other laws and regulations
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as history and characteristic information, will not be disclosed in principle.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

If the personal information held by the Inn is incorrect, the user may request the Inn to correct, add, or delete (hereinafter referred to as “Correction, etc.”) the personal information according to the procedures prescribed by the Inn.
If the Inn receives a request from a user and determines that it is necessary to respond to that request, the Inn shall perform Correction, etc. of the personal information without delay.
If the Inn performs Correction, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or decides not to perform Correction, etc., it shall notify the user to that effect without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)

If the Inn is requested by an individual to suspend the use of or erase personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”) on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use or that it was obtained by improper means, the Inn shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
Based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if it is determined that it is necessary to respond to the request, the Inn shall perform Suspension of Use, etc. of the personal information without delay.
If the Inn performs Suspension of Use, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or decides not to perform Suspension of Use, etc., it shall notify the user to that effect without delay.
Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if Suspension of Use, etc. involves a large amount of expense or is otherwise difficult to perform, and alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the user can be taken, such alternative measures shall be implemented.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

The contents of this Policy may be changed without notifying the user, except for matters otherwise provided in laws and regulations or this Policy.
Except as otherwise determined by the Inn, the changed privacy policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
